Do your research meant that, as a USER, you don't understand the logistics of the back end of the tech, like I do. I'm on various committees and organizations involved at the root levels of these topics.

It felt condescending with no context. I am about to pass out so I can't take on the Linux topic. It looks like there is a lot to learn. I had heard of it before and it was a question mark in my mind. Thanks for bringing it up and good evening to you. I will have a look at it, but I am never paying for Ai. I was just doing that for kicks. I would love to get rid of MS though. Peace.

Hun, Free isn't FREE. Please do you reseach. Good effort.❤️

I hear you and I mention that in many ways in many places. What do you mean exactly? Interacting with AI comes at a price. I get that. Like I have said, I can write a post on that, no problem. What I mean by free here is Free use.

Expand full comment

Exactly, free use means you allow the developers to own your data in exchange for Free use of THEIR PLATFORM. e g. Facebook, Gmail, Amazon, and ALL the tricksters. The primary fact of the matter. Therefore you are giving the milk away for free 🤯. Whilst THEY make BILLIONS of the FREE service. I constantly warn about this. OWN YOUR DATA. ☺️

I mean, I am aware of that. Data is what they are after. True. So, aside from substack, who else are you giving your free data to? I mean, when you call the bank, it says "your voice can be recorded" for bla bla. So, yeah. I hear you. What you say is true. But what do you mean by applying it here and when you say "do your research" what does that mean? Also, you are on substack. We may not see your information on our side if you don't post or do much, but your comments are still data points associated with you. Here you are.

You can be identified, even if you have a pseudonym. Do you mean that we shouldn't use any of the new ai tools because they are just information collectors?

I mean, where do you draw the line? I would love to get rid of my cell phone, for example, but it represents some real logistical issues for me given a current job I have and so forth.

I am in process of getting rid of my smart meter and I don't use any other social media. I realize that everything we say in text , by phone and online is recorded data.

So, I am curious how you want me to apply this info.

Unless you just meant it as a reminder like "don't get sucked in too much by AI, it doesn't care about you". I get that. I don't love that you have to log in to Microsoft to use it. I mentioned that in one of my posts. I said it wasn't free because of that. And how does one truly OWN their own data? There is a lot to that. We are having our data stolen left and right. I am interested in what you have to say. You said you say this a lot to people. Clearly it is something you are passionate about. I am just wondering what you want me to do with it, specifically.

And as far as what you're doing with Ai Art. You're using MS. Get a paid version like AI ART app in the app store, Stop using MS. Using a PC, switch to Linux. There's a lot of other AI platforms other than the big tech's. I can put up some links. Substack obviously has a tool, I don't use it but others here do, correct?

LEGISLATION is required to accomplish that. McHenry was spearheading the issues with block chain and AI. Coincidentally he has been or decided to resign or end his term right in the middle of the so-called pause notifications on BOTH AI and Cryptocurrency regulations. But does it looks like they've paused? Hell NO, their all menuvering into position to capitalize the tech. Exactly how they ushered in the Internet and online banking. Make sense now?

I am sorry, the things you are saying make sense to me but I don't understand how I am meant to apply them. They way you said "do your research" made me feel like you were trying to say I was missing something and misdirected somehow and you were here to save me from myself.

Is it possible that you only want to talk to people about how we are being steamrolled by AI and having our data stolen?

If that's the case, I agree with you. But, it's not going to change how I interact on substack. I do say no to voice recordings and as many other "extra" intrusions as I can. I mean, if you watch tv, there is a record of what you like to watch. I dont' watch tv. (I do subscribe to things on Youtube)

What they have on me for logging into Microsoft is that I was at my computer at 10pm at (ip address) logging into Microsoft to play with Bing image creator and I like architecture.

These problems are real, I agree with you.

It was just the "do your research" part that made me think you were trying to say something more.

If you are just running around the world trying to be helpful and telling people that we are being overrun by AI and our data is being collected, than I am a fan of that.

"Running around the world..." That's an interesting analogy. But I guess it's kinda like what we're doing online, minus the BS." Facting " would be my preferred lable.

So I thought about our convos and suggest I introduced you to an Author on Medium:
